32 years to date when Boss Watts and D. Ice formed Petersburg's most Electrifying hip hop group, Ice Productions /Beyondageto . Years before Social media outlets such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc, Watts and D. Ice generated national exposure through headlining the Progress Index Newspaper, where they captured their art in print, Richmond Times Dispatch, music magazines, performing state to state with legendary hip hop artistist, and good ole fashion word of mouth. During their reign Watts and D. Ice received numerous accolades from the Mayors office and City Hall for their award winning Anti drug and violence song titled “Streets of Fury”, performing it live for the City of Petersburg, the super group was contracted by the Petersburg Police Department to perform in support of the “Just Say No movement and DARE initiative.” With the full support of the city of Petersburg, Watts and D. Ice went on to conquer at the world famous Apollo theater, competing against over 40 diverse entertainers and winning 4 consecutive times. The group never split, just took a pause, as D. Ice continued his music career in Europe and Watts joined the city workforce ,and continued to record and perform nationally. Watts and D. Ice, continued to do solo projects, and to commemorate the groups 30 year anniversary, in 2017, Watts and D. Ice came together in the recording booth and recorded the lyrical single "Johnny Byrd" dedicated to the original Blue Store owner himself.
